I am an avid traveler (I love to drive), quilter, writer and computer aficionado.  If I could do all four at one time, I would be in my own heaven! :-D  Alas, it isn't to be and one's happiness can be achieved just by doing what they love to do when they have the chance.  It's a good thing I love being a Virtual Assistant!

As it is, I am able to write while I drive and I am in the process of writing my first novel.  Now don't be alarmed.  I don't actually "write" while I am driving, I have a digital cassette recorder with a microphone that I can speak into.   Now if I could just find a PDA or mini word processor that would allow me to talk to it and the words would magically appear, typed and ready to be edited....

Driving is very therapeutic for me.  I work out a lot of problems and issues while I drive.  Not to mention that book I am writing.  :)  I have been known to set off on a road and three hours later notice that I am not in the same state anymore.  My favorite drives are on country roads, near shorelines (Michigan has a lot of these) and through mountains (when I can find them).  Rain, snow, or shine - I want to be out there.

Quilting is something else I like to do.  I hand piece and quilt everything I make mainly because I don't know how to sew on a machine.  Yes, I admit it.  I am totally inefficient when it comes to a sewing machine.  So, it takes me 10 times longer to make a quilt.  But that is okay.  I can live with this. :-D  So far, my completed quilts include a full size sampler and a full size Bear's Paw quilt.  I have the top of a Fan quilt pieced, and am currently working on the Oriental Star block you are looking at in the picture on the right.

The computer.  This fantastic, wonderful machine!!  With it's capabilities that allow me to be creative in almost any medium, to find any information that my heart desires and gives me the freedom to talk to someone clear across the country without using the telephone, this contraption is a true gift.  And now there is a thing called a cable internet connection!!!  Wonder what they will come up with next??
